Israeli Vibe(r)s

Thanks to dear friends Hamid and Hana, I now know VIBER is an Israeli product with possible links to IDF (I'm uninstalling as I'm writing this). This product is totally disposable and Hana already did the research for us for alternative apps, just google "Viber Israeli" and you'll find its page on the Israeli Ministry of Industry Trade and Labor.

A quote from Hana's fb:

"Dear Viber friends,

Today someone told me that Viber is an Israeli product with links to the IDF so I decided to do a little bit of research. I did not have to try so hard.

According to their linkedin page Viber Media Inc. (http://www.linkedin.com/company/viber-media-inc.), the company that owns the app, employs 26 individuals of whom at least 3 have connections to the Israel and the IDF:
- Director of Business Development, Yaron S (http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=10481215&authType=OUT_OF_NETWORK&authToken=z-lD&trk=hb_upphoto) worked with the Israeli Ministry of Defense for 4 years
- Project Manager, Dror Ayalon (http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dror-ayalon/24/505/25b) worked with the IDF Intellegence for 3 years
- Mobile Client Team Leader, Alex Fleshel (http://www.linkedin.com/in/alexfleshel) worked with the IDF for 3 years

Personally this is enough to choose to stop using this app. I invite you to do the same if you believe in the value of BDS.
